We have routed ourselves to campgrounds that ended up being surprisingly closed for whatever reason and had to search for an alternative in the area. Those campgrounds, mostly state and federal, do not answer phone calls or actively update their websites to share this essential information, especially during the shoulder seasons when shutdowns are based on weather or human resources. If each campground listed had an open/closed/unknown status serviced with the date of last confirmation it would save time for those traveling during the shoulder seasons.
