Set average or maximum speed

Maximum driving speed
LARRY SHERFIELD
This program assumes you will drive the posted speed limit. Some speed limits are 70 and 80 MPH. These speeds are unsafe for travel trailers. My max speed is 65MPH and I'm sure other have lower. I've seen others going higher speeds but my common sense says they are taking everyone with them in grave danger. There are other trip planners out there competing with you, so you need to step up or move aside. I will pay more money to keep Trip planner because of it's interface. I will look at others to see if they may be better than you. Is that fair warning,

Like David Amerson, I don't drive above about 70 mph when towing, even if the posted speed is above that. A setting for maximum speed in the profile would be helpful, but only if it's used in the calculation of travel time.

As mentioned by Candace Terry, when towing my travel trailer, I limit my speed to ~68mph on interstates and other limited access hwys. Otherwise, I generally follow the posted speed (assuming it's<70).
For routes in the plains and southwest, much of the route likely uses hwys with posted speeds of 75-85mph. This could lead to unrealistic arrival time.

That would be especially helpful when your trailering something.

It would be far better for each "leg" to automatically be timed to the speed limit over that stretch of road, perhaps modified by the driver's choice of "slow, average, or 'leadfoot'" or somesuch.
