I want to add a budget or estimated cost for stops and see a total estimate for the trip based on the costs I've entered. It would be nice to record a budgeted amount while planning and an actual amount while traveling, then I can compare costs afterward.

Hi everyone! We just made an update that includes a new "Budget" field in addition to several other new fields to help you keep track of extra details. 
The amount you enter in the budget field on waypoints will combine with our fuel cost estimate for a total trip cost estimate in your trip stats.

I totally agree. Being able to add ticket costs, restaurant costs, etc. would make budgeting so much better.
